Internet Marketing of Books and Ebooks

The internet is changing the way readers find out about books and, increasingly, how we sell them. So Mouse and Bookwhether you're a publisher, an author or a bookseller, selling printed books or moving into the realm of digital publications, it's essential you master the techniques of internet marketing.

Internet Marketing Of Books and Ebooks is a hands on workshop led by working practitioners with global experience in marketing books and ebooks online. Attendees will learn the tools and techniques they'll need, from email and website marketing to social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Ning. You'll learn what works, what's hype and how to use the internet effectively to attract and engage customers both in New Zealand and internationally.

Your Workshop Leaders

Heather Sanderson is the Manager, Digital Sales and Business Development Heather Sandersonat Random House of Canada, the Canadian division of Random House, Inc. Heather has worked on all aspects of digital media including developing and launching publisher websites, web analytics, Google’s book search, effective direct-to-consumer and social media campaigns. She now also focuses on developing the Canadian eBook program for Random House of Canada and McClelland & Stewart and on new and innovative projects to bring books and digital media together. Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Publishing degree and is currently working on a Master of Information degree.

Sean D'Souza is not the average feel-good speaker. He doesn't necessarily tell you what you want to hear. Instead he shows you Sean D'Souzawhat works time after time in marketing and sales. Sean has sold thousands of books internationally through digital media and digital promotion using websites, blogs, video, podcasts and other systems of promotion online. He has appeared on radio and TV internationally and regularly speaks to large audiences in the US, Australia and New Zealand. Sean is the marketing columnist for the New Zealand Herald and has a radio column on Easy Mix. He is the author of several books including highly acclaimed marketing text The Brain Audit. His website at www.psychotactics.com is a veritable treasure trove of information on topics that span branding, customer retention, online and offline strategies.
